Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

In short: RideRadar has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your position is shared only with the group you join, and only while you are in it. We never sell your data.

Who we are

RideRadar is made by KamotoPH (Cyril Cesar Estremera), General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. We are responsible for your data under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173). Contact: support@kamotoph.com.

What we collect and why

Data Why we need it Who can see it
Your position (precise location), with time and accuracy To show you on your group’s map, measure the convoy, give directions and alerts Riders in your group; viewers you allow (see below)
Rider name you type in So your group knows who you are Your group and its viewers
A random RideRadar ID created on your phone To tell riders apart and keep your rider number Stored with your group; not linked to your name or phone number
Group details: code, roles, ride route, settings To run the group Your group
Group chat messages and SOS To deliver messages and emergency alerts Your group; viewers receive only SOS
Nearby riders heard over Bluetooth (their RideRadar ID and signal strength) To estimate distance between riders when mobile signal is weak Your group
Phone model, system version, app version (only when the app uses access codes) To manage access codes and help with support Only us

We do not collect your phone number, contacts, photos, email address, advertising ID or payment details. The camera is used only to scan a QR code on your phone; images are not stored or sent.

Location in the background

While you are in a group, RideRadar keeps sharing your position when the screen is off or the app is in the background, so your group can still see you during the ride. On Android a notification shows while this is happening. Sharing stops when you leave or delete the group. You can also turn location off for RideRadar in your phone’s settings at any time.

Viewers

A rider can let family or friends follow them as “viewers”. Viewers see only that rider’s position, and only while the rider has “Share my position with viewers” turned on. Viewers do not share their own position; their name and the rider they follow are visible to the group.

This website and the beta form

If you ask to test RideRadar, we receive your name, email, phone type and anything else you type in the form. We use it only to send you a test invite through Apple TestFlight or Google Play testing, and to contact you about the beta. We keep it until the beta ends, then delete it, or sooner if you ask. The website itself sets no tracking or advertising cookies; when you are logged in to it, WordPress uses its own login cookies.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you can ask to be informed, to access, correct or delete your data, to object, and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. The quickest way to delete your data is in the app; see Delete your data. For anything else, email support@kamotoph.com. We answer within 15 days.

Wherever you live, you can use these rights; if your country’s privacy law (for example the GDPR in Europe) gives you more, we follow it too.

Children

RideRadar is made for riders on public roads and is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Group codes with a passcode are stored as a one-way fingerprint, so the passcode cannot be read from the database.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
